    I’m a relative newbie to woodworking…

I’ve got three 16 points per inch tenon / dovetail saws off ebay. One worked best as is.
I’ve since had a go at sharpening and setting all three, with saw file, nail punch and hammer.

The one that was Ok, now isn’t. It’s sharp, and cuts along the grain better than across. It runs smoothly then sticks mid stroke. I can get it to cut.
I’ve got one of the other’s to go beautifully, but I think this is luck more than judgement.

What’s the likely cause of sticking mid stroke? Set too much, too little? Poorly sharpened (teeth out of shape?) Something else? Any trouble shooting tips would be good.
    Thanks…
